Exploring Knowledge in the Real World
The IBDP Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition held recently at Cygnus International School was a resounding success, showcasing the intellectual curiosity, creativity, and reflective thinking of our IBDP2 students. Each student presented their chosen objects and thoughtfully articulated their ideas in a focused 2–3-minute speech, demonstrating how TOK concepts connect meaningfully to real-world experiences.
The event was graced by the presence of our Principal, Founder Director, and IBDP2 parents, who formed a supportive and engaged audience. IBDP1 students also participated enthusiastically, offering assistance and constructive feedback, further enriching the collaborative spirit of the event.
A special appreciation goes to our IBDP2 students, whose dedication, insight, and effort were evident in every aspect of the exhibition. Their ability to question assumptions, explore multiple perspectives, and communicate ideas with clarity is a true reflection of their growth as global thinkers.
As William Arthur Ward once said, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” Our students, through this exhibition, proved that great learning is inspired, and it inspires others in turn.
The TOK Exhibition stands as a testament to the IBDP ethos - encouraging students to think critically, engage deeply, and reflect purposefully.
Teenage life - they’re like emotional rollercoasters! Their brains are still growing well into their mid‑20s, which means feelings can feel HUGE, and impulse control takes a back seat sometimes. That’s why giving them room to feel - and teaching them to ride those waves - is super important. Cygnus International School organised a workshop for the faculty conducted by Mr. Sushant Kalra which dealt with the core issues of emotional well-being.
The teachers delved into their own childhood and addressed their unhealed traumas through identifying and accepting them. It was an interesting session which taught one how to process situations and emotions it generated through different methods.
It was an effective session which instilled the notion that by nurturing emotional literacy, teaching healthy boundaries with technology, and fostering real-life connections, we could help the teenagers to build resilience, empathy, and a sense of balance which is essential in laying the foundation for stronger relationships, academic success, and lifelong well-being.
“Yoga is a mirror to look at ourselves from within”
Yoga is a great practice for both the body and the mind as it offers peace and mindfulness to people who practice it and helps them get through daily stress of life. Yoga should be introduced to students early in life so that they can reap its rich benefits throughout their lifetime. The students of the IB Diploma Year 1&2 of Cygnus International School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 with great vigour and poise by performing asanas and kriyas.
Their well-prepared slides explored the ancient origins of yoga, explained its holistic importance for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, and demonstrated key asanas (postures). The session effectively conveyed the depth and enduring value of this practice.
Well done to the students for promoting wellness and sharing their knowledge!
“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision… It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” — Andrew Carnegie

13th June 2022, marked a special day for both our institution and its students, when we inaugurated Cygnus International School, introducing the IB Diploma Programme at Cygnus.
We began the day an excited, yet nervous group of students, who were ready to begin this new chapter of their school life. We were given a warm welcome by all our facilitators, as we engaged in various games and activities, boosting our enthusiasm even further.
We then went to the field to take part in a heated game of basketball, where we reconnected with our not-so-old CBSE friends through sport and conversations. We later went to the bistro, to end this day filled with fun and frolic on a high note.
13th June 2022 will always be a memorable day , for it was one filled with both curiosity and excitement, as we took a step closer to our goals and our future! We look forward to become lifelong learners and to contribute to create a better and more peaceful world.
